Hope Centers
a community project for the church

We, as a missionary team, are partnering with the leadership of the national church in Swaziland to establish Hope Centers across the nation.  The idea behind these Hope Centers is to establish the local church as a place of refuge for the community. 

Our mission is to empower the local church in Swaziland to be the hands of Christ extended to their communities.

Our vision is for the people of Swaziland to experience life and hope through Jesus Christ as the local church is equipped and empowered to meet the physical, spiritual, emotional and educational needs of their communities.

Establishing Hope Centers is far more than just building structures.  It is really about developing the local churches into healthy churches and people that are pouring out the love of Christ through avenues such as compassionate care for those living with HIV/AIDS, home-based care, counseling, after-school programs for orphans and vulnerable children and feeding the hungry.  

We, in conjunction with Reverend Samuel Dlamini, the General Superintendent of the International Ministries Assemblies of God (IMAG) in Swaziland, have held regional compassion meetings to educate our pastors on what compassion is.  Pastors are catching the vision of sharing the love of Christ to their communities in very tangible ways.  They are being equipped with the knowledge of what it takes for the Church to be all that God intended it to be to a hurt, lost and dying nation.

The next step is to train our pastors and church leaders on the church's compassionate response to HIV/AIDS.  This will eventually extend into home-based care.  Swaziland is the nation with the highest HIV/AIDS rate in the world.  The stage has been set for the Church to fulfill its intended role and bring the healing touch of Christ to this nation.
